'Main Pal do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon
Pal do Pal Meri Kahani He
Pal do Pal Meri Hasti
Pal do Pal Meri Jawani He.'
On 15th August, More than a Month Ago MS Dhoni Announced his Retirement from International Cricket with a Video which had this song as it's BGM, with the words:- “Thanks. Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 19.29 hrs consider me as Retired.”
All of us knew it was coming someday, But the Sudden Announcement made Everyone Perplexed.
Such a Long and Wonderful International Career which Started with a Runout, As Destiny would have it Had to end with a Runout. The Man who was renowned for his Running Between Wickets ironically had to finish his Career with a Runout.
What MSD was for me and all us Fans were beyond words and imagination. For me MSD the Person was more important than MSD the Cricketer, The Life lessons and values he showed were always a guiding light.
MSD, The Captain gave us everything in his career to celebrate and rejoice, Every ICC Trophy that was there at the time, Numerous Series Wins, No.1 Test Ranking, 3 IPL Trophies, Champions League Trophy etc. There weren't many things in Cricket that was left for him to achieve. He along with his Team Conquered Many things in World Cricket. The Man surely Retired as a legendary Captain of the Game.
My Love with Cricket started in 2004 when I was 4 Years old, MS also Debuted at the same time, What made me an MS Fan, I don't know. But being his Fan was always worth it. His Performances gave me Happiness and Sorrow, Seeing him play always was a Mood Lifter.
As the song in his Retirement Video suggests he thought that he was a man of few moments, But for all of us his fans, He was the man of all the Great Moments. He was there when everything happened even though he always liked to walk away from all the Spotlight, like how Retired in a simple way.
There are a lot of things to write about him, But I don't want to drag this more, maybe another day.....
I wanted to start my Blog with something for the Man who made me a Cricket fan for Life, But I didn't know then that it would be a Tribute for his Retirement from International Cricket. The Realisation that we won't be able to see him in the Blue Jersey again is taking time. But It is time to move on.
Today we will see him again after a long long time, MSD now will only be seen in CSK's Jersey. The Master of the Death Overs might be playing the Penultimate Over of his Career this Season, As it is expected that he might call it a day on his illustrious Cricket Career by Next Season(2021). We all believe that he will ace it like he always does in the Death Overs.
The Man who retired from International Cricket at 19:29 hrs on 15th August will be back again on the field Today, 19th September, as the CSK Captain at 19:30 hrs.
So to finish it off like our Finisher, I will say that:-
You made me a Cricket Fan for life. My whole Childhood was Build around you. Your Performances gave me Happiness and Sorrow. When You leave, My Childhood also Leaves with you. You will Always be Our Captain.
'Aapka Nazariye Me Aap Pal do Pal ka Shayar Honge
Par Aapka Shayari Me Hum Sab Doob Gaye the
Humare liye Aap Har Pal ka Shayar the Aur
Aap Hamesha Hamara Dil me Rahenge.'
Thank You for Everything MS, You will certainly be missed by us Fans and even your so-called Haters.
Thank You.
