India VS Australia: Second ODI Review

India's attempts of a fightback to stay relevant in the Series didn't go as planned as Australia won the second ODI by 51 runs to clinch the series with an unassailable lead of 2-0. Steve Smith again grabbed the man of the Match with a brisk 104 off 64 balls The story was quite identical to the First Match.

Opting to Bat First on a track which appeared to be an absolute beauty to bat on like the one in the last match, Australia again unleashed a Carnage on the Indian Bowling Line Up which looked a bit One Dimensional again. David Warner and Aaron Finch Started off the Australian innings with an Opening Stand of 142 in just 22.5 Overs. Smith joined Warner at the crease after Finch departed to Shami on 60 off 69 balls. Warner also followed soon after in the 26th Over as he got Run Out for 83 off 77 Balls, as he got short off the crease after Shreyas Iyer's Direct Hit. Smith was then joined in the crease by Labuschagne, as the duo stitched together a Partnership off 136 runs in 95 Balls. Smith Completed his Fifty in 38 Balls. The duo motored along fast as Smith raced to his Hundred in just 62 Balls, again identical to the First ODI, even before Labuschagne could reach his fifty. It was a risk-free innings. Smith fell in the 42nd Over to Hardik Pandya, who surprisingly was called up to bowl to fill in some overs. Then Labuschagne was accompanied by Maxwell, The Duo added 80 runs in just 45 Balls. Labuschagne completed his Fifty in the course of this Partnership. He fell in the 49th Over to Bumrah for 70 off 61 balls. Maxwell again played a QuickFire knock of 63 in just 29 Balls as Australia put up a Daunting Total. Hardik Pandya was the pick of the Indian Bowlersas he took 1 Wicket for 24 Runs off his 4 overs. The Fielding was a again Concern for India.

Set to Chase a Daunting Total again, The Openers started positively for India as they added 58 runs in 7.4 overs before Josh Hazlewood again provided the First breakthrough for the Home Team as he dismissed Dhawan. Kohli walked into the middle, but the visitors were again given a jolt as Cummins accounted for Mayank in the very next over. Kohli was then joined by Iyer, who looked like he had decided to take on the short balls. the Duo together stitched a Partnership of 93 runs from 88 Balls, before Iyer was dismissed by Moises Henriques in the 24th Over caught by Smith. Kl Rahu lthen joined Kohli in the Middle.

The Duo added 72 off 70 Balls, as the Team Total reached 225 in 34.5 Overs before Josh Hazlewood again broke hearts of a lot of Indian Fans as he got Kohli Out for 89 off 87 balls as he was dismissed to an exceptional catch by Steve Smith. That brought curtains on a stroke-filled innings which saw Kohli's majestic flicks etc. KL was then joined by India's best Batsman in the last match Hardik Pandya. The Duo's partnership was broken in the 44th Over, with the Team Score on 288 by Adam Zampa as he accounted for KL Rahul, who made 76 off 66 Balls. Hardik was joined by Jadeja, who struck some big blows, but Pat Cummins dismissed both of them in consecutive balls in the 47th Over with the Indian Score on 321. The Chase ended shortly after that as India were only able to make 338 in their 50 Overs. Thus losing the Match by 51 Runs, handing Australia an unassailable 2-0 lead in the Series. Cummins, Hazelwood and Zampa were the pick of the Australian Bowlers.

The Third ODI of the Series will be played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on 2nd December (That is, Tomorrow). The Match will commence at 9:10 AM IST. A lot of changes can be expected in the Indian Team for the Final Match.
