Welcome to the Third Episode of 'ChatteR Views'. In this Episode, we will have the Pre Season Review of MI. To discuss about MI, We are joined by Harshad Bhai (@HBJ3221), a Cricket Enthusiast and MI Fan from Maharashtra.

RJVV:- First of all Welcome Harshu, You are our third guest in the new series, ChatteR Views. Great to have you here to talk about MI. RJVV:- MI as we know, The most successful IPL Franchise, finished at 1st Position in the Points Table and later went on to win their 5th IPL Trophy defeating DC in the Final, So your thoughts on MI's Performance in the last Season? Harshad:- Last Year MI Performed like a champion side in both the league stage and in Play-Offs. We Lost the first match as usual but came back strong after that one. I thought Rohit's injury could have some effect on the team's performance but Pollard lead the side well in his absence. And it was Also the much needed Breakthrough season for Ishan Kishan by which he managed to break into ICT. This Win By MI and those 2 months were much needed at that time when we were Facing the pandemic.

RJVV:- Now coming to the Auction, MI retained 18 Players before the Auction, Leaving them with 15.35 Cr to fill 4 Overseas and 3 Indian slots. They left out few Overseas Bowlers before the Auction. The Players they bought were:- 🔸Nathan Coulter Nile 🔸Adam Milne 🔸Marco Jansen 🔸James Neesham 🔹Piyush Chawla 🔹Yudhvir Singh 🔹Arjun Tendulkar So your thoughts on MI's Auction Performance? Harshad:- MI was among those Few Teams who didn't have much to do in the auction. They needed an OS Pacer (who could bat if possible) and one Good spinner They released all their OS pacer except Boult before the auction They were eyeing for Chris Morris in auction for which they released NCN who was brought for 8Cr last year But they had to give up on him due to purse They brought back NCN for 5cr which was a good buy They Also brought Adam Milne for 3.2cr which was a very good buy who can click 145+ Buying Jimmy Neesham Was a good move as they needed a backup for Pollard Piyush Chawla was also A Great buy as MI lacked in the spin Department. His experience would be very useful for the team I'm excited to see Marco Jansen if he gets a chance. RJVV:- MI is one of the most Settled sides in the IPL as always, Not many weaknesses to find out. Comparing to the might of the Batting Line-up, The Bowling isn't that powerful. Your thoughts on that? Harshad:- Our Batting is definitely More stronger than Our Bowling In Bowling Department, I have no doubt in Bumrah. He'll give his Best as he's doing for 4-5 seasons now For Boult, if there's a little bit of swing then he'll be deadly in PP. As 3rd Pacer, it's still not confirmed who'll Play. Mostly NCN would start I think but in last year he wasn't at his best in bowling And his speed had also decreased I would like to see Adam Milne as 3rd Pacer He has that speed. In the Spin department, Chahar needs to do well like he did in 2019. Also, we have Piyush Chawla too. Krunal Pandya needs to Bowl well as he's expensive sometimes. MI could try Anukul Roy too in later stage of the season In Pace Department, the bowling looks settled with Bumrah and Boult. If Adam plays it would be great but it depends on Team balance too Also, Hardik Might Be bowling this season And if he does, it would change the Dynamics of this Team In Spin, I'm not fully sure. Chahar is the key in this. He needs to do well. RJVV:- Expectations from the Youngsters this Season? Harshad:- There are a few of them I would Like to see them perform. First one is Rahul Chahar. His bowling is very important for us in middle Overs. He has a chance to get in the Indian Team for the next WC if he has a great IPL. Another one is Anukul Roy as AR. He had a good domestic season. He'll perform well if he gets a Chance. And the most interesting one being Marco Jansen, who was found by MI Scouts Though I'm doubtful if he would get a game But would be interesting to see how he does RJVV:- So Your Preferred Playing XI? Harshad:- My preferred Playing XI Would be as follows given that all players are available:- Rohit Sharma Quinton de Kock✈️ Surya Kumar Yadav Ishan Kishan Hardik Pandya Kieron Pollard✈️ Krunal Pandya Nathan Coulter Nile✈️ Rahul Chahar Trent Boult✈️ Jasprit Bumrah Wanted to have Adam Milne for NCN but then the tail would be too long. RJVV:- So, Your Expectations from MI this Season? Harshad:- Nothing Much Just Want them to Complete the hat-trick of trophies. And Want a great season from Rohit with the bat which is missing for quite some time now. RJVV:- Best of Luck to MI, One of the most Balanced Teams. Harshad:- Thanks Raju, Best of luck to CSK also.
